A picture is worth a thousand words

These two pictures describe Evan in a nutshell.  They were taken within seconds of each other.
The first picture shows her screaming because she's so mad that she can't get the play doh container open.  Then a few seconds later she found something to smile at in the second picture.  And oh ya...that's the kitchen table!  I turned around for probably a minute and she managed to climb up there.  Korbyn was playing play doh at the table and anything Korbyn is doing Evan must check it out.  She is such an exhausting rascal.

Walking

Evan is finally walking!  She just took off last Saturday the 10th and hasn't stopped.  She's surprisingly very well balanced and doesn't fall very much.

She is also already showing signs of potty training.  She wakes up dry almost every morning.  When she does, I put her on the big potty with a seat and she goes in a matter of seconds.  She also has been walking to the potty and patting it right after she goes in her diaper.  Today she was eating lunch and she grunted one time and I asked her if she wanted to go poop on the potty.  She put her arms up and off we went.  The girl pooped in the toilet in about a minute!  She was so excited and said "gone gone" when she was done and was clapping her hands.  I'm not pushing her at all, she just seems so young.  I'll keep putting her on when she seems interested but that's about all we're going to do right now.  But come summer time I think she'll really be ready!

Birthdays

Their birthday party this year was so much fun.  We didn't invite nearly the amount of people that we had in the past and it was so nice to visit with everyone there.
We could not have had this party without the  memaws and papaws.  Doug and Loranne took off on Friday to set up and decorate everything, it looked amazing!  My mom and dad helped us clean everything up the next day.  We are SO blessed with the grandparents God gave us for our babies.

Yvonne made the cakes and other yummy snacks.  They were all amazing and delicious of course!

Korbyn hasn't stopped talking about her party yet.  She keeps asking when her next one will be!
I took off for Korbyn's birthday.  We made cupcakes together the night before and I took her to school that morning then went back to have cupcakes with her and her class at school.
We then went to their doctor appointments.  I made them back to back on the same day so I would only have to take off one day.

The first appointment was at 2:15, so we got there around 2.  They were both big check ups and they both had to get four shots.  We didn't get out of there until 4!  Evan was just done with it all after about an hour, so the other hour was a fight just to keep her from screaming.

Korbyn was so brave!  She had to lay down and she started to squirm a little bit after the first two, but didn't cry until after the last one.  As soon as she saw that it was Evan's turn, she dried it up and held her hand.  Evan screamed the entire time she was getting hers, shots were just the icing on the cake.  Poor babies :(

Goof

Korbyn...
This girl is hilarious and definitely one of a kind.  These are just some of the pictures I occasionally find on my phone after she asks to take pictures with the camera.  Love her!

Trick or treat!

Our church has a small festival for the Sunday school kids each year.  This year they had a trunk or treat, hayride, games, and dinner.  Korbyn had a blast.
Friday we went to Immanuel church and school where they also had a trunk or treat.  Yvonne, Cody, and their kids were down and I can't believe we didn't get a picture together!  We all went together and it was perfect for our kids.  It was small enough that they could walk vehicle to vehicle an get just enough candy.  They had popcorn, cotton candy, and a bounce house.  We decided that was all we were going to attempt this year, after going to both memaw and papaw's house of course :)

No walking, no sleeping

We're definitely going to have our hands full with these two in the years to come.  The good thing is they adore each other and miss each other when they're apart...for now.

It's less than a week from Evan's birthday and no steps yet.  Yesterday was the first time she stood by herself for about two seconds without holding onto anything but that's as far as we've got.

And I'm hoping Korbyn is just going through a phase of hating to sleep.  Two weeks ago I could put her in bed, say her prayers, pat her back for a few minutes and I could walk out while she was still awake and she would just doze off.  Now she just tells us she isn't sleepy (and she really doesn't even act like it) and wakes up several times a night.

Evan is completely off the bottle and has been sleeping like a champ, 11 hours straight every night.  Now it seems like they've traded places, I know they planned the whole thing ;) Oh how I look forward to the days of getting sleep again!!!

Daddy's girl

Evan likes to give hugs but absolutely loves it when her daddy holds and hugs her.  As soon as Colton walks in the door after work she races towards him and cries at his ankles until he picks her up.  She will not let him put her down!  She just hugs him for what seems like forever.  Such a sweetie :)
