Birthdays

Their birthday party this year was so much fun.  We didn't invite nearly the amount of people that we had in the past and it was so nice to visit with everyone there.
We could not have had this party without the  memaws and papaws.  Doug and Loranne took off on Friday to set up and decorate everything, it looked amazing!  My mom and dad helped us clean everything up the next day.  We are SO blessed with the grandparents God gave us for our babies.

Yvonne made the cakes and other yummy snacks.  They were all amazing and delicious of course!

Korbyn hasn't stopped talking about her party yet.  She keeps asking when her next one will be!
I took off for Korbyn's birthday.  We made cupcakes together the night before and I took her to school that morning then went back to have cupcakes with her and her class at school.
We then went to their doctor appointments.  I made them back to back on the same day so I would only have to take off one day.

The first appointment was at 2:15, so we got there around 2.  They were both big check ups and they both had to get four shots.  We didn't get out of there until 4!  Evan was just done with it all after about an hour, so the other hour was a fight just to keep her from screaming.

Korbyn was so brave!  She had to lay down and she started to squirm a little bit after the first two, but didn't cry until after the last one.  As soon as she saw that it was Evan's turn, she dried it up and held her hand.  Evan screamed the entire time she was getting hers, shots were just the icing on the cake.  Poor babies :(

Goof

Korbyn...
This girl is hilarious and definitely one of a kind.  These are just some of the pictures I occasionally find on my phone after she asks to take pictures with the camera.  Love her!

Trick or treat!

Our church has a small festival for the Sunday school kids each year.  This year they had a trunk or treat, hayride, games, and dinner.  Korbyn had a blast.
Friday we went to Immanuel church and school where they also had a trunk or treat.  Yvonne, Cody, and their kids were down and I can't believe we didn't get a picture together!  We all went together and it was perfect for our kids.  It was small enough that they could walk vehicle to vehicle an get just enough candy.  They had popcorn, cotton candy, and a bounce house.  We decided that was all we were going to attempt this year, after going to both memaw and papaw's house of course :)

No walking, no sleeping

We're definitely going to have our hands full with these two in the years to come.  The good thing is they adore each other and miss each other when they're apart...for now.

It's less than a week from Evan's birthday and no steps yet.  Yesterday was the first time she stood by herself for about two seconds without holding onto anything but that's as far as we've got.

And I'm hoping Korbyn is just going through a phase of hating to sleep.  Two weeks ago I could put her in bed, say her prayers, pat her back for a few minutes and I could walk out while she was still awake and she would just doze off.  Now she just tells us she isn't sleepy (and she really doesn't even act like it) and wakes up several times a night.

Evan is completely off the bottle and has been sleeping like a champ, 11 hours straight every night.  Now it seems like they've traded places, I know they planned the whole thing ;) Oh how I look forward to the days of getting sleep again!!!

Daddy's girl

Evan likes to give hugs but absolutely loves it when her daddy holds and hugs her.  As soon as Colton walks in the door after work she races towards him and cries at his ankles until he picks her up.  She will not let him put her down!  She just hugs him for what seems like forever.  Such a sweetie :)

Date night

Last Friday we had a date night for us AND the girls.  My friend Cara, also a roommate in college, and her husband Nathan have baby Fisher who will be a year in February and we've only see him once before then!  We had a great time and wish we would do it more often.  We ordered pizza, hung out, kids played, and we got to catch up.  Until next time!

Thank you

Evan is such a little parrot.  Today I was taking the laundry out of the dryer and she started handed me things out of it.  I would say "thank you" after each time and I promise it sounded like she was trying to say it!  My phone won't let me upload videos to the blog, but the next chance I get I'm going to post the video of her doing it.

First ponytail

Evan's hair has grown so much lately, I can actually put it in a little ponytail.  So cute!

Dance

Korbyn had her first dance class tonight. As we were about to walk in the building she looked back and said "I'm not nervous."  When we got in we had to hurry and change, with Evan in tow.  I gave her a kiss and told her I would be right outside and I would see her in a little bit.  She looked so excited and giddy, it was adorable!

After class we had to order shoes and shirts and bags if we wanted.  Evan had had enough at this point.  We had been there an hour and a half and I wasn't able to put her down or hand her off the entire time!  After class I wanted to take a picture of her.  She was so hot and tired she told me that she did not feel like taking a picture.
Saturday we went shopping for her dance attire and dance bag.  She was so excited.  In the bath she wanted to show me all the stuff she learned.  She would never say or show me anything the entire evening but now in the bathtub she wants to show me, that girl.  She showed me the butterfly, a foot position (I can't remember which one it's actually called) and how they have to sit.  I asked her if she was ready to go back next Monday and she said yes.  I can't wait to see how this goes!

Too fast

It seems like Evan is growing right before my eyes.  Just this past week she learned to say "mamma," tries to mock us when we make noises, blows kisses, can crawl across a room, and officially started an in home daycare.  Things are moving way too fast!

Crawl

Before I forget to write it down, Evan just officially crawled!!!  It was only one leg in front of the other but it counts!

Bath time

Evan started splashing Korbyn in the bathtub and thought it was the most hilarious thing ever, she was belly laughing!  As much as I sometimes dread bath/bed time, I know I'll truly miss this...one day ;)
