There has been an ongoing debate about whether Korbyn looks more like me or Colton. There was no doubt that when she was born and for the first few months she was Colton's twin. But here lately I've been seeing more and more of myself in her. And it's so weird how some days I'll just look at her and I almost don't even recognize her! My sister in law and I were talking about that and she said she can remember thinking the same thing when her kids were young, it's just crazy how fast they grow and change when they're so little.
When I saw the picture of Korbyn with Pawpaw I remembered that I had a picture just like that around the same age! And he's almost wearing the same thing haha!
This is with my mom's dad.
This is of me right when I started crawling and the one below is of Korbyn. Our noses are definitely different, but I think there are a lot of similarities. I don't have any of Colton's baby pictures at the house so we'll have to get with memaw and then post one of him and see :)

PawPaw's 80th birthday!
My dad's dad (pawpaw) had his 80th birthday party last Saturday. He wanted to hold Korbyn and the poor thing had just woken up so she was like a deer in the headlights!
These are all of the great grand kids. They range from 14 to 7 months! And the amazing thing is they all get along and play with each other so great. And it was really nice because everyone in our family on that side was there! Except my mom!!! She never misses things like this but it just so happened that it was her turn to volunteer at the hall that she's a member of, they had a wedding or something going on. And she could hardly find any other member to help her out let alone take over for her. I know she wanted to be there because she loves being around when all the family gets together like this and she asked me to take lots of pictures, well of course I forgot my phone (pretty much my camera) so I just used Colton's.
This was also Korbyn's first time to swim! We came dressed for the pool but then didn't get in until later because we were taking pictures and eating and socializing :) We bought this $2 float at Walmart and it said 0-6 months so I was thinking this would be perfect, well I don't know what 0-6 month old can sit in that thing! It has two holes for her legs to go through but it's so long that it would fold up and then if I just set her in it it the front end would come up if I didn't have her right up front, so I just threw the float out of the pool and put her on my hip...so much better.
This was right when we got in. I even gave my nieces and nephews a little speech about how this is her first time in the water and don't be too crazy around her because I don't want her to be scared of it right off the bat and then never want to get back in. They were all "ok!" well they couldn't help themselves, they absolutely adore her and as soon as we even got close to the water they were surrounding us! I didn't care, I'm not going to scold them for wanting to be next to her.
In the picture she looks absolutely mortified! But when I took her out of the float and put her on me she was a lot more relaxed. Everybody was just waiting to see what her reaction was going to be. At first she was like "what the hell is this!" but then she got warmed up and LOVED it!!! Her legs were kicking the entire time I was holding her and even my nephews were jumping in about 5 feet from us and getting us totally soaked and she would just laugh with water all over her face! I was so nervous that she was going to cry and get really nervous about it and want to get out, but I should have known this little girl would love it. She probably would have just laughed if I had let her go under the water for a split second, but mommy was too nervous for that :) So now we're ready to swim! Which is perfect because cousin Avery has her birthday party coming up this weekend and it's a pool party...yay!

Lee county fair
A couple of weeks ago we went to the fair which I haven't been to in a few years. I can't remember why we didn't go two years ago but last year I was pregnant and so I babysat Cutter while all my friends, and my husband, went out and had a great time...well not this year! Friday night Taylor, Jenn, and Cutter stayed over and then the guys got up and went fishing in the morning while Jenn and I took the kids to the parade. It was SO humid I felt like my skin was going to drip off of my body!!! I can't remember the last time I went to a parade, it was so much fun for the kids. At the end they always have all the firetrucks come through with the lights and sirens blaring and Korbyn was sitting with Krystal (Taylor's sister). It was so loud that we were having to shout and we were sitting a foot away from each other. So I asked her to cover her ears because I knew she was probably going to flip out and get scared when they came by (keep in mind we were probably only 10 feet away from the trucks) but this girl did not move! She was mesmerized and stayed just like that in the picture letting Krystal hold her ears for probably 5 minutes!
Then mommy and daddy had some fun of their own that night :)

Outside baby
Then sometimes we'll go swing until bedtime. She likes to go really high, the higher you push her the better. I think she's going to be our little dare devil. She just likes to play really rough and she's not nervous or scared of anything! The other day I had her sitting on my lap on the couch and she was facing me, well she wasn't fussing or anything and she just threw herself back onto my legs and I immediately dropped what I was doing because I just knew she was about to start screaming her head off. Well when I look down at her, the little girl is just laying upside down and smiling like it was the best thing ever!
I took this video of her and sent it to Colton, I told him she was singing to him lol!
Seven months!
Korbyn can now scoot, and she's getting faster every day. Her only problem is she goes in the wrong direction! She likes to play on her tummy a lot more now (she hated it when she was younger) but she gets so frustrated because she'll see a toy in front of her that she wants to play with that's just out of her reach and she'll move to go get it but then she gets upset because she doesn't understand why it keeps getting farther and farther away!
I put her on her tummy and when I came back into the living room she was underneath the couch!
When I had put her down she had those toys right in front of her face, I was out of the room for only a few seconds.
She is just so much fun to be around, all day long she's all I think about! I just want to go give her a hug and a kiss and see her big smile and then go back to work...I probably could because we're only about 3 blocks away all day long :)

No time!
I've officially been at my new job for a week! My department is pretty small, there's only 10 of us but they all seem to really get along so I don't think there's going to be any problems there. My department is "employee benefits" where we're the broker for companies/businesses who offer health benefits for their employees and I handle the large group renewals. I still have no clue what exactly I'll be doing day in and day out because everyone has been so busy that no one has the time to sit and train me! I've been a shadow to a few of the ladies just sitting behind them watching what they do and trying to understand. I know in a few months everything will become second nature but right now I feel like my head is spinning! And it is such an "office" job. I have my desk in a room with three other desks and NO windows. There are two other girls who are also new (less than two months) who are still learning the ropes too. So I don't know if it's because they haven't been fully staffed in so long but these ladies are SO busy! They are there before 8 and are there after 5, which is what I thought I was getting away from, but they said it's usually not this busy for each one it's just that they've been understaffed so they all had to take on new responsibilities. So once the other girls and myself get our licenses (to sell insurance) then it should calm down. But we can't really do much because so much of it is speaking with our clients and legally we can't say two words to them about insurance until we have our license, so right now I'm bored but I know once I'm trained in everything I'll be staying busy, which I like.
But of course the day before I started Colton had to go back out of town for work for the entire week so it was kind of difficult having to adjust to everything by myself, but I told him that I didn't mind because that way I would only have to take care of one baby and not two :) I have always been in amazement of women who work full time jobs and have small children because I always said I don't know how they did it all because I felt overwhelmed with keeping the housework up, keeping Korbyn well, keeping my husband well and working a part time job. Now I'm doing all of that PLUS a full time job and like I said I always admired those moms who were able to do it and now I admire them even more!!! I told Colton a while back ago that if I ever went back to work full time that we were going to have to get someone to come in at least once a week to help with the basic cleaning...well I'm so ready to get someone in here! This past week I've accomplished NO housework, or anything else as you can tell by the date on my last post. The only thing that has gotten done is bottles being washed, and that's it! I feel like my house is disgusting! And I told my mom that yes I could do it all on the weekends but I really don't feel like spending my only days off working. And I'm sure there are those supermoms who can easily juggle small kids, a husband (yes that is considered work!), and a full time job...but sorry I haven't reached that supermom status yet and I'm not afraid to admit that I need help!
But I think I'll really like my new job once I can actually work and we'll see about getting this momma some help :)
