I thought this was so cute. The dr. gave her a balloon after her appointment Monday and he loosely hooked it around her ankle. Well we didn't even need it around her foot because she was hanging onto that thing so tight all the way to the car. In fact when I put her in her car seat it wasn't even hooked around her foot anymore she actually hung onto it the entire time! And she kept looking at it like it was the most amazing thing ever!! And yes, in this picture she looks exactly like Colton to me :)
We're still not feeling well! Last night and today was pretty rough. Last night she was up every couple of hours and even when I would hold her or give her a drink of juice she would just scream like she was just uncomfortable. And all day today I had to hold her. Even if I was in the same room as her she had to be held. So I know she just isn't felling 100%. I haven't seen any buds in her mouth or swollen gums but who knows, she may have one poke through next week! It would definitely explain the off and on fever, the clinginess, and the uncomfortableness. I just feel so sorry for her and I w

Korbyn's Vacation
Unfortunately we haven't taken our vacation yet but Korbyn got one from daycare last week! The daycare closes for a week every year during the summer and they do heavy duty cleaning/repairs etc. In the past I never had to worry about when the daycare would close because obviously I didn't have to go to work when it did. Of course in my fourth week at my new job I wasn't going to have care for my child and there was no way I could take off an entire week! Although I would have LOVED to. So Monday she stayed with Papaw Doug, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday my sister-in-law Katie kept her and Friday one of her teachers, Mrs. Felicia kept her. She was all over the place!
This was Katie's and Felicia's first time to watch her and I thought it was very funny that they both hinted to me that she was high maintenance! Not in a rude way, but they both just said that she requires a LOT of attention. I hope now people understand why she was at daycare every day, even the days that I was off. I love spending time with her but she's a very exhausting child to care for. So nothing can get done while watching Korbyn other than watching Korbyn.
These are some pictures Mrs. Felicia sent while she was watching her. She's starting to hold her bottle! Well not really, you have to place her hands on the bottle and then she'll hold it, but it's a start!

Little Rooster
Korbyn is a red head and every day is proving she has the attitude to match! I'm starting to call her my little rooster :) She's started this thing where she screams. Sometimes it's when she's happy and other times it's when she's mad. I think it's cute...sometimes.
The first video is at home. Monday when she woke up she felt warm to me so I took her temperature TWICE and she didn't have anything. Well of course an hour after I get to work they call me and tell me she has a fever of 101. So we head to the dr. to see what's going on and she has a summer cold, a pretty bad one too. She has green boogers everywhere, can't breathe through her nose and does not feel good at all. I couldn't put her down for even a second when we got home, she just wanted to be held so I know she didn't feel good. And then when I would hold her she would just whine the entire time, poor baby :( Then that evening her fever got to 103.6! So we stayed home Tuesday too. Around 6:30 a.m. she woke up and I put her back in bed with me and we slept until 9:00! I can't believe she slept that long, but apparently we both needed it. That morning she was feeling much better, but still was running a low fever. I made muffins for breakfast and this is her enjoying them, screaming away!
The second video is in Walmart. A couple of weekends ago Colton, Korbyn and I went to Bastrop to do some grocery shopping and so we decided to take her through the toy aisle. She was in heaven! She would scream at almost every toy in excitement. While I was recording her we had about five different toys going at one time so she kept trying to look at all of them. A lady came walking down the aisle and said "my! Someone is happy!" Yes she was :)

Avery's party
Last weekend we had Avery's birthday party in Katy (Colton's niece). My aunt had bought Korbyn this super cute outfit that I couldn't wait for her to wear. Colton had a fishing tournament that morning so we were waiting on him to come home so we could head out, well he ended up being an hour late so by the time we actually got to Katy everybody was already swimming. So we literally showed up and changed into our swimsuits, poor thing didn't even get to strut her new outfit :( Naturally she had a blast in the water. It was so funny because every time I would lean her toward me where she was almost laying on her tummy in the water she would just automatically start kicking her legs like crazy and start squealing! I can't wait to go swimming with her again.
After the party we went to Bass Pro (of course) and I wish I would have gotten a video of her watching the fish in the big tank, it was priceless. I set her right next to it and it took her a while to realize that there were fish in there. Well one started swimming right next to the glass right in front of her and it must have caught her attention because all of a sudden her eyes got real big and her mouth just hung open watching that fish go by! Then she realized there was an entire tank full of them and she just kept staring at them.
We were in there for quite a while and we wandered over to the kid section where they had an entire rack of all these different kinds of stuffed animals that made noises. They had almost every kind of animal, even flamingos (I had no idea flamingos made noises like that!). Colton wanted to get her one so he started grabbing every single one, would squeeze it and let her listen to it then go on to the next one. Every time he would squeeze one she would just look at it and didn't really have a reaction to any of them. WELL...he pulls a quail and it starts making it's noise and she goes crazy!!! She starts reaching for it and kicking her legs and squealing all at the same time. We both just looked at each other and were like "ok, I guess we're getting the quail!" She loves this thing! Even when Colton was putting her back in her car seat in the truck she was straining to look where that quail was.
It was dark on the way home so the pictures didn't turn out very well, but you can see her holding her precious bird. I told Colton, "what a little tomboy, she had the choice of all these pretty pink, red and blue birds and other really pretty animals...and she chose a QUAIL!" The girl knows what she likes that's for sure!

Resemblence?
There has been an ongoing debate about whether Korbyn looks more like me or Colton. There was no doubt that when she was born and for the first few months she was Colton's twin. But here lately I've been seeing more and more of myself in her. And it's so weird how some days I'll just look at her and I almost don't even recognize her! My sister in law and I were talking about that and she said she can remember thinking the same thing when her kids were young, it's just crazy how fast they grow and change when they're so little.
When I saw the picture of Korbyn with Pawpaw I remembered that I had a picture just like that around the same age! And he's almost wearing the same thing haha!
This is with my mom's dad.
This is of me right when I started crawling and the one below is of Korbyn. Our noses are definitely different, but I think there are a lot of similarities. I don't have any of Colton's baby pictures at the house so we'll have to get with memaw and then post one of him and see :)

PawPaw's 80th birthday!
My dad's dad (pawpaw) had his 80th birthday party last Saturday. He wanted to hold Korbyn and the poor thing had just woken up so she was like a deer in the headlights!
These are all of the great grand kids. They range from 14 to 7 months! And the amazing thing is they all get along and play with each other so great. And it was really nice because everyone in our family on that side was there! Except my mom!!! She never misses things like this but it just so happened that it was her turn to volunteer at the hall that she's a member of, they had a wedding or something going on. And she could hardly find any other member to help her out let alone take over for her. I know she wanted to be there because she loves being around when all the family gets together like this and she asked me to take lots of pictures, well of course I forgot my phone (pretty much my camera) so I just used Colton's.
This was also Korbyn's first time to swim! We came dressed for the pool but then didn't get in until later because we were taking pictures and eating and socializing :) We bought this $2 float at Walmart and it said 0-6 months so I was thinking this would be perfect, well I don't know what 0-6 month old can sit in that thing! It has two holes for her legs to go through but it's so long that it would fold up and then if I just set her in it it the front end would come up if I didn't have her right up front, so I just threw the float out of the pool and put her on my hip...so much better.
This was right when we got in. I even gave my nieces and nephews a little speech about how this is her first time in the water and don't be too crazy around her because I don't want her to be scared of it right off the bat and then never want to get back in. They were all "ok!" well they couldn't help themselves, they absolutely adore her and as soon as we even got close to the water they were surrounding us! I didn't care, I'm not going to scold them for wanting to be next to her.
In the picture she looks absolutely mortified! But when I took her out of the float and put her on me she was a lot more relaxed. Everybody was just waiting to see what her reaction was going to be. At first she was like "what the hell is this!" but then she got warmed up and LOVED it!!! Her legs were kicking the entire time I was holding her and even my nephews were jumping in about 5 feet from us and getting us totally soaked and she would just laugh with water all over her face! I was so nervous that she was going to cry and get really nervous about it and want to get out, but I should have known this little girl would love it. She probably would have just laughed if I had let her go under the water for a split second, but mommy was too nervous for that :) So now we're ready to swim! Which is perfect because cousin Avery has her birthday party coming up this weekend and it's a pool party...yay!
