Love, love, love that I get to see this kid whenever I want throughout the day!
Somehow this picture got left out when I was posting about Alysse's baptism. I love Alysse's expression.
Last Friday we went down to my nanny's house (five minute walk from our house) to go swimming and celebrate my two nieces birthdays. They turned 13 which is still unbelievable to me. Korbyn did a little better in the water, but still refused to get off the steps. I did eventually have her jumping off of them to me.
She's really starting to get the idea of having to be "gentle." She always wants to hold and pet Pixie, but Pixie usually runs away from her because she's never been very gentle with her. Now I'll tell her that we're going to have to be very gentle with the new baby and so she's been practicing with our dog.

Ultrasound
Guess what?! It's a .....GOTCHA!
Colton and I decided before we went to the ultrasound on Wednesday that we were going to find out the sex of the baby and not tell anyone. We'll see how long it lasts.
I have had almost every single person I come across, whether I know them or not, tell me that it was a boy. In fact, the only one that has said it's a girl is Korbyn and my oldest brother.
I've said from the very beginning that I will be extremely happy with either one. I didn't grow up and get to experience that special bond with a sister, so if it's a girl I will be so excited that Korbyn gets to experience that. Having a baby sister is ALL she's talked about! And of course we would be happy with a boy because every family eventually wants that boy, especially my husband.
The tech actually gave me a due date of November 4th!!! Korbyn's birthday if anyone has forgotten. I've also said from the beginning that I don't care what day this baby is born on, as long as it's not on November 4th. I DO NOT want them to share the same birthday. Colton is a grown man and still complains about having to share a birthday with his brother :)
This baby is so active. Even the tech made several comments about how she couldn't believe how much it was moving around. As soon as the screen came up and we got to see the profile of the baby I started crying. It's just so amazing! I love this baby so much already.

Beach
Last weekend we took the camper and met up with several other couples and camped at an RV park at Port Aransas. The park had a pool and a hot tub that the kids really enjoyed...except my kid. I realized after the trip that this is her first time since last summer that she's been in or around water. She was really nervous and didn't want to have much to do with it.
The first day all the guys went on a guided fishing trip. We all met up with them after they got back to see everything that they caught.
There were ten kids all together, so they kept each other busy most of the time. The park was really nice and close to the beach. One of the moms had borrowed a golf cart so we could get around pretty easily, and was really nice hauling all the kids down to the beach.
Now, the actual beach was quite an experience. Korbyn HATED the water. She wouldn't even let me hold her and walk with her where the sand was muddy from the waves. She would scream and claw me if we even got close to it. This was her very first time to see the beach and I think she was completely overwhelmed. She did however find an umbrella chair and ask me to get her books out of the truck which she read for a little bit.
The sand was a different story. She loved it. Especially when her daddy was building sand castles with her.
We then went fishing for a little bit while the kids romped around and got even sandier, if that was possible.
A few of the families went out to eat after we were done fishing. We had such a fun time. On the way headed home we had to wait an entire hour to get on the ferry! Colton said "take a good look around because this is the last time we're coming back to this place." He is so not a people person. He would rather go to Matagorda or Port O'Connor where there is hardly any people and all you can do is fish!

First Kicks!
I know I'm at work and I usually don't post on here while I'm working, but if I don't do it now I'll forget. Wednesday the 22nd was the first day that I've felt the baby kick! It was SO amazing! I would have this big goofy grin on my face when I felt it, and it moved ALL day long. That will never get old :)

Sweet girl
I don't brag a lot about my child because I think that every parent thinks their child is the greatest, but this is my blog and you're about to hear some bragging :)
I am unbelievably proud of this little girl. Not for anything in particular, but just overall I think she's beautiful, charismatic, respectful, smart, funny, and the list goes on.
As a baby she was so demanding and wanted our full attention 100% of the time and just didn't seem to be content in most situations. But so far as a toddler, she has impressed me very much and I hope she continues to grow up that way.
I'm sure she'll have a nasty, rebellious stage as a teenager and as a parent I'm constantly (even now) trying to think of the best way to parent her and raise her to avoid that. All I want for her, and the future baby, is to be respected, respectful, and happy.

Alysse's Baptism
Last Sunday we drove to Houston for Alysse's baptism. The service started at 11 a.m. and we left the house at 8:30 a.m., plenty of time. Well of course we ran into traffic because of a wreck and didn't move for about 30 minutes. We rush like crazy to get downtown and walk in right as Mark, Jana, and Alysse turn around to face the congregation AFTER the baptism! So we missed the actual baptizing, but we still got to see the family which is always so nice.

Camping
Last weekend we finally got to go camping in our new camper! We've had it for probably over a month and was finally able to reserve a spot. Jenn and Taylor also took their camper so it was a nice relaxing weekend with some friends.
After breakfast on Saturday we went on a dewberry picking mission. There was a trail right behind our campsites and we all went on a nice, long walk. We were all saying that we've been to the lake our entire lives and have never been on a single trail. But it was really fun! Now I'm going to want to check out all of them every time we go.
Saturday evening Colton, Korbyn and I took a ride across the lake so daddy could fish a little bit. She really likes the boat and the water but HATES it when we have to go fast, she just clings to me the entire time.
We had such a good time and can't wait to go camping more often. Next weekend a bunch of us are going camping at Port Aransas, I'm super excited! Korbyn really enjoyed it too. When we were packing up she was saying that she didn't want to leave and she wanted to stay, me too!!!
