I can honestly say the one thing Colton and I both need to work on as parents is our potty mouth. I think Colton got his when he started working in the oil field where everyone you talk to has a dirty mouth. I'm not really sure where mine came from! My parents NEVER used fowl language in front of me, I could probably count on one hand the times they both said something they weren't supposed to in front of me. But when I try to think back my mouth is what always got me in trouble. Not necessarily bad words, but talking back and speaking my mind without a filter.
Last Sunday Colton, Korbyn and I were in Bible class and she was eating a snack and playing on Colton's lap when he realized that she spit up all over his arm and his pants we both looked down at it at the same time and Colton said "f***" I whipped my head up and he slowly picked his head up and looked at me with wide eyes and a nervous grin...I was SO embarrassed! Nobody acted like they heard him but I'm almost positive they did because we all sit around tables pretty close to each other and nobody was talking except the person that was reading at the time.
Well the other day I had to take Colton's truck to work to return some lumber that we didn't use over the weekend. He told me that morning that the lumber is sticking out about two feet over the tailgate so don't take off real fast and be careful when I back up. About 9 a.m. I realized that Korbyn was completely out of diapers at daycare so Sam and I hopped in the truck to make a Walmart run and as I was backing up I hear "BAM!" I knew as soon as I heard it what I had done and I yelled "f***in A!" and then immediately covered my mouth and looked at Sam. She just giggled and said "it's ok!" Very professional... I completely forgot it was on the back and ran right into the side of one of the girl's truck at the daycare. Of course I went in and told her what happened and I would pay for the damage. When we walked out to her truck she just started laughing at how little the damage actually was, but I felt so awful!
These are Korbyn's new faces for when she gets frustrated or mad. She scrunches her nose and puckers her lips and shakes her head and then she'll say "ohhhhh ohhhhh" it's so funny to watch. Hopefully we can calm down our mouths before Korbyn actually starts repeating things we say. But this girl worries me already. She is SO hard-headed it makes my head hurt! I don't know what we're going to do when she gets older!!!

Pointing
Korbyn has pointed for quite some time now. Sometimes she points to nothing and other times she knows exactly what she wants. I'll ask her where her bows are, where's the tree, where's your cup etc. and she always knows where to point! She's also been able to tell us who people are, even the kids in her class! I'll ask her "where's Maverick?" and she'll point right to him and she also does it to the other kids in her room. We have Maverick's birthday invitation on our fridge and it has his picture on it and whenever she sees it she gets excited, she's probably thinking "what the heck are you doing here?!" And of course she points to her memaws and papaws. This past weekend they just happened to all be at our house at the same time and we asked Korbyn "where's memaw?" all very curious where she was going to point because they're both called memaw and I can't remember which one she pointed at first but then we asked her again right after that and she pointed to the other one! So she knows exactly who they are.
At home we always ask her where Rocky, Pixie, mommy, and daddy are and we finally got her on video doing it all at once. After watching this video I realized that she got a little too excited and fell and bumped her face on the couch...but she was ok :)

Daddy
There's no doubt about it, Korbyn is definitely a momma's girl. But she LOVES her daddy! Of course he's pretty fond of her too :) We've both come to realize that he's not a baby person haha! We were both over the moon for her as soon as she was here but Colton is still so nervous around little babies and has admitted that he probably doesn't have the amount of patience it takes either. But now that she's older and is able to "play" more....he's all over her and she loves every minute of it.
I've already noticed that she acts differently around Colton and I. If she's sitting on my lap somewhere she's a constant wiggle worm and seems to never be entertained, but if she's with Colton she always is so relaxed and will just sit back against his chest and take everything in.
For some reason when she gets on our bed she immediately gets hyper and excited. I guess it's something different for her because she's never really in it unless we're playing around. Colton started bouncing up and down and she LOVED it! So he kept doing it and as soon as he would stop she would try to do it herself, so cute! And yes, we caught her before she crawled off the end of the bed :)

FIRST STEPS!!!
This weekend we went to one of our friend's son's first birthday party, him and Korbyn also go to daycare together. They have a nice green yard, unlike ours ;) and while we were putting her on the grass to walk, we realized she's not so fond of the feeling on her toes! It looks like we're almost torturing her because she hates it so much, but it was just so darn funny I couldn't resist. So unfortunately this video is NOT of her first steps, but this was just three days before she actually did.
Yesterday at daycare her teacher came and told me that she took her first step! I immediately wanted to start crying because I couldn't believe it...but I didn't! So then we were trying to get her to walk all day long and she would actually do it several times. I even got her to take three whole steps to me! And I love watching her do it because she gets so proud of herself. I tried to get a video of her but it was really difficult to stand her up, hold the camera, and get her to walk to me all at the same time, so we still don't have a video of her walking yet but hopefully we'll get one soon!

Bottle update
At first I started mixing formula and milk together in her bottle just to get her used to the taste then transferred it into a sippy, which she was already accustomed to. We had a little trouble getting her to finish the entire cup of milk just because I think she wasn't used to the cold, but now she's a pro and will suck down an 8 oz. sippy of milk like nobody's business!
I know these pictures are kind of random but I just had to add them. We all went over to my parent's house for my dad's birthday and I have four nieces and three nephews ranging from age four to eleven and they all love Korbyn. Thankfully the girls are the four oldest because they love to hold her and play with her for hours on end and Korbyn eats it up...the boys not so much, they all have sisters so it's nothing new. But I just had to laugh when I came upon Korbyn sitting and "playing" with the big kids. Those legos belonged to my brothers and I played with them growing up and now they play with them almost every time they all come over. The two older girls were in deep conversation trying to build a house while one of the boys was trying to build some kind of car and there's Korbyn digging her hands in the bucket and throwing out as many pieces as she can! Of course I sat by her the entire time she was playing with them because she loves to put everything in her mouth and I knew she was going to find the tiniest piece and swallow it. But thankfully she didn't and I finally lured her away to some safer toys :)

Dancy Dance
This is the first time Colton and I have ever seen Korbyn dance! Her teacher told me that she started to bob her head to a car that makes music at daycare and I was shocked because I had never seen her do it nor have we really been trying to teach her. Sometimes in the car I'll sing real loud and be moving around and I'll look back at her and she's just laughing away and I'll tell her "c'mon Korbyn, dancy dance!"
Last night she was playing with her toy (the one she's hanging on to) and you can't really hear it in the video but it plays music and she just started dancing and thought she was the funniest thing! Colton is sitting on the couch and egging her on so I could get a video of her. She just looks hilarious because she doesn't just move her head she moves her ENTIRE body! I've never seen a baby dance like that before, but then again...she's one of a kind :)
