Potty mouths

I can honestly say the one thing Colton and I both need to work on as parents is our potty mouth.  I think Colton got his when he started working in the oil field where everyone you talk to has a dirty mouth.  I'm not really sure where mine came from!  My parents NEVER used fowl language in front of me, I could probably count on one hand the times they both said something they weren't supposed to in front of me.  But when I try to think back my mouth is what always got me in trouble.  Not necessarily bad words, but talking back and speaking my mind without a filter.

Last Sunday Colton, Korbyn and I were in Bible class and she was eating a snack and playing on Colton's lap when he realized that she spit up all over his arm and his pants we both looked down at it at the same time and Colton said "f***"  I whipped my head up and he slowly picked his head up and looked at me with wide eyes and a nervous grin...I was SO embarrassed!  Nobody acted like they heard him but I'm almost positive they did because we all sit around tables pretty close to each other and nobody was talking except the person that was reading at the time.

Well the other day I had to take Colton's truck to work to return some lumber that we didn't use over the weekend.  He told me that morning that the lumber is sticking out about two feet over the tailgate so don't take off real fast and be careful when I back up.  About 9 a.m. I realized that Korbyn was completely out of diapers at daycare so Sam and I hopped in the truck to make a Walmart run and as I was backing up I hear "BAM!"  I knew as soon as I heard it what I had done and I yelled "f***in A!" and then immediately covered my mouth and looked at Sam.  She just giggled and said "it's ok!"  Very professional...  I completely forgot it was on the back and ran right into the side of one of the girl's truck at the daycare.  Of course I went in and told her what happened and I would pay for the damage.  When we walked out to her truck she just started laughing at how little the damage actually was, but I felt so awful!

These are Korbyn's new faces for when she gets frustrated or mad.  She scrunches her nose and puckers her lips and shakes her head and then she'll say "ohhhhh ohhhhh" it's so funny to watch.  Hopefully we can calm down our mouths before Korbyn actually starts repeating things we say.  But this girl worries me already.  She is SO hard-headed it makes my head hurt!  I don't know what we're going to do when she gets older!!!
